–       Launches compact powerhouse 3D Printer for cost-efficient AM production

–       Debuts ground-breaking IDEX technology to give manufacturers the ultimate machine tool to 3D print at scale

Essentium, Inc., a leading innovator of industrial additive manufacturing (AM) solutions, today announced the launch of its newest 3D printing platform, the Essentium High Speed Extrusion (HSE™) 240 HT Dual Extruder 3D Printer designed for small and medium-sized factory spaces and university labs. For the first time in Europe, the company also showcased the Essentium HSE 280i HT 3D Printer, the first true independent dual extrusion system (IDEX) designed and developed for the demands of the factory floor.

Featuring a new industrial design including a single dual extrusion print head, the Essentium HSE 240 HT 3D Printer maximizes the performance, reliability, and efficiency of parts production – all within a small footprint. Designed to meet the needs of even the most demanding industries, the Essentium HSE 240 HT 3D Printer has three print modes that can create highly accurate parts from different materials in a single print without sacrificing quality and performance. The modes are single extruder mode, support mode, and multi-process mode.

With a build volume of 430 x 350 x 375 mm, the Essentium HSE 240 HT 3D Printer includes production-oriented features such as high-speed 3D printing, automatic spool switching for long print jobs, and an internal camera that allows remote monitoring. It also features a build chamber that can reach temperatures of up to 185C and an Essentium Hozzle™ heated nozzle that can reach up to 550C to deliver end part mechanical strength and performance.

The Essentium HSE 280i HT 3D Printer is characterized by its large build volume, high-throughput production capabilities, and high-temperature material compatibility. Built for high-volume manufacturers in aerospace, electronics, automotive, and consumer goods, the Essentium HSE 280i HT 3D Printer is suitable for functional prototyping and full-scale production using high-performance engineering filaments.

Where most IDEX systems have printheads that are independent in the X-axis but locked together in the Y-axis, the Essenitum HSE 280i HT 3D Printer is fully independent in both. Users can leverage five print modes: single head mode, support mode, multi-process mode, copy mode, and independent mode.

Said Blake Teipel, Ph.D., CEO of Essentium: “Industry 4.0 is now at the top of everyone’s agenda, and no business wants to be left behind in the race to develop the factory of the future. However, manufacturers have legacy systems that can’t be replaced overnight, demanding advanced manufacturing solutions that operate alongside existing processes to deliver quick wins and tangible benefits. Essentium’s new 3D printing platforms do just that, helping manufacturers to accelerate into the digital age by enabling AM applications that make significant improvements in productivity and growth.”
