ESD-Safe

Overview

Essentium leads the innovation in electrostatic discharge (ESD) safe filaments for 3d printing, ideal for sectors like electronics manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, and chemical processing. Uniquely, our ESD materials are non-marring and perfectly suited for dust-free environments. Unlike others who make ESD filaments with carbon-based powder fillers, Essentium employs carbon nanotubes (CNTs) incorporated into the filament, ensuring no dust is left behind. This is achieved using our in-house MLF technology, which captures CNTs solely in the top coating for unmatched performance. We also offer Anti stat (AS) filament where the ground connection cannot be achieved by using inherently dissipative polymers, which are infused into the base polymer to provide ESD safe features. Additionally, Our ESD-safe filaments can be printed under various process settings, allowing users to adjust the surface resistance value to meet specific needs. Essentium's commitment to open-source availability ensures these innovative ESD materials can be utilized in a wide range of open platform 3D printers, enhancing their applicability across diverse industries.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • All ESD materials are non-marring and ready for no dust environments.
  • Conductivity can be tuned from 1E4-1E11.
  • Non-marking, non sloughing.
  • Antistats (AS) can be made in colors.

Rapid Prototyping

Rapid Prototyping

The benefits of using additive manufacturing for prototyping were some of the first to be realized. During that age of Additive 1.0, manufacturers learned that they could skip the lengthy lead times and costly tool changes during initial iterations and accepted it despite its limitations. Additive 2.0 introduced rapid prototyping where manufacturers can use technology like the Essentium High Speed Extrusion (HSEâ„¢) 3D Printer to reduce the time to prototype to a few hours instead of days and instead of iterating with ABS or PA, they can design with the end-use material.

Tooling

Tooling

Traditional manufacturing methods are driven by CNC machines and injection molding machines, both of which require tools to be made, iterated, manufactured, and shipped. This entire process can take months, even with the best suppliers on the planet. With the Essentium High Speed Extrusion (HSEâ„¢) 3D Printing Platform, skip over the lead time and tooling costs, and create highly accurate molds, that can be tweaked on the fly. These 3D-printed tools can be printed in a matter of days at a fraction of the cost of traditional tooling and casting methods.

Casting

Casting

Avoid the high cost and long lead times of traditional tool creation and print molds on the Essentium High Speed Extrusion (HSEâ„¢) 3D Printing Platform. Manufacturers can create prototypes, iterate designs, and print the final part on the same platform and materials which saves time and increases quality.
