The world of additive manufacturing is not immune from the SPAC craze. Desktop Metal, Shapeways, Markforged and Velo3D have all either completed or announced plans to go public through the process. Essentium has announced it is to launch the HSE 240 HT, a new compact 3D printer featuring its High Speed Extrusion technology, with dual extruders, later this month.

The acquisition of Collider and its Orchid printer technology by industrial 3D-printing company Essentium, and University of North Florida (UNF) professor Steve Stagon’s patent for a 3D-printed mold raise the bar in the quest to reduce or eliminate costly tooling while producing optimally performing parts in greater volumes.
